Dystopian - Science Fiction - Mystery - Contemporary
2022
Words have power.
A young boy lives with his father in a world where the written word is controlled in the name of preserving “American culture.”
To keep the peace, libraries are stripped of all books that are deemed “unpatriotic.” Those that dissent, face punishment in the form of having their children relocated; especially those of Asian origin. One of those unpatriotic books is a book of poems his missing mother wrote long ago.
When he gets a mysterious letter with a single drawing on it that connects back to the many stories his mother told him, the young boy sets out to find his mother.
His journey takes him to underground librarians, children who have been taken/relocated, and a defiance rising against the many injustices people have faced in the new “peaceful time.”
Go on an adventure where a young boy learns what it means to preserve culture and stories in a world trying to extinguish it.
