An exploration of womanhood, sacrifice, and longing in 1950’s America for two young women as they face insurmountable odds.
Set in a time rife with inequity and discrimination, we follow the perspective of Ruby, a 15 year old girl, impoverished and forgotten by her family, and Eleanor, the first girl in her family to go to college.
Each strives for a brighter future, but their progress is hindered by forbidden love, social classes, and unplanned pregnancies, forcing decisions that alter the trajectory of their lives.
As the women progress on their new paths, their lives collide in the most unexpected way.
